On the 10th of February 2022, BAE Systems presented the network of Slovak local partners in industry for the CV90 tracked combat armored vehicle in Beluša. BAE Systems fulfills the requirements of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic to acquire the new fleet of the 152 vehicles in several variants. The local industrial partners were introduced during their visit in KOVAL SYSTEMS, a. s., in Beluša.

BAE Systems is obligated to integrate Slovak industrial partners by more than the required 40 percent of the contract quantity, to provide the maintenance and development of highly specialized production skills, and to support the growth in employment in the country.

BAE Systems has already been working in a close relationship with the KONŠTRUKTA-Defense, a. s., which is the designer of land and air defense weapon systems. It is the designer of the mortar system Mjölner used in the Swedish-army’s CV90 vehicles.

The company has also entered the contracts with several strategic partners such as KOVAL SYSTEMS, a. s., situated in the Trenčín Region; ZTS - ŠPECIÁL, a. s., in Dubnica nad Váhom; and Aliter Technologies, a. s., in Bratislava. All these partners will provide production support in the wider industrial network for the CV90 program.

"The successful collaboration of BAE Systems significantly exceeds the vehicle mechanical assembly and the building of new factories," said, the CEO of BAE Systems Hägglunds, Tommy Gustafsson-Rask. The company develops and produces the CV90 vehicles in Örnsköldsvik, in Sweden. "Our offer depends on the Slovak partners in the defense industry. These important strategic partners develop, produce, train and support the production of vehicles in many variants."

The offer among BAE Systems Hägglunds, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), and the Slovak local industry will provide the production and delivery of the CV90 vehicles on time and on budget. It also supports the long-term self-sufficiency of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic.

The approach of BAE Systems to industrial cooperation relies on the proven experience from the several CV90 export programs for European customers. The BAE Systems Hägglunds reliably delivers their programs on time or in advance. Thanks to that fact, they have generated the € 3 billion in industrial cooperation, over the last 20 years. It is the close cooperation with a growing network of Slovak industrial partners that will make local industry important in the service, maintenance, and future development of the CV90 vehicles.

There are seven European countries which use the CV90 vehicles, namely Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands. The countries operates almost 1300 CV90 vehicles. Being designed for future growth and continuous missions, the CV90 is a triumphant combat vehicle.
