A key chapter of one of the most ambitious modernization
projects of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic is currently unfolding in
Sweden. The first CV90 MkIV infantry fighting vehicles, in whose production our
company is also involved, have entered a demanding testing phase. It is here
that the true capabilities of this platform in its Slovak configuration will be
proven.
These are not tests focused solely on driving performance or
live-fire trials. The testing program also includes command, control and
communication systems, cooperation with the Slovak defense industry, as well as
the vehicles’ readiness for future upgrades. At present, fine-tuning of details
is underway—details that will have a decisive impact on the capabilities of
mechanized units for many years to come.
More than 30 Slovak companies are actively involved in the
CV90 MkIV project for the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic. In addition to
manufacturing components, they also participate in addressing specific
operational and technical requirements. As a result, the CV90 MkIV represents
not merely “another combat vehicle,” but a comprehensive platform with the
potential to significantly enhance the protection, firepower, and situational
awareness of Slovak soldiers.
The start of the testing phase was also reported by the
well-known online magazine focused on modern warfare, defense modernization,
and security in Slovakia – www.futurearmy.sk.
