On Tuesday, 12 May 2026, the 12th edition of the international IDEB Defence & Security 2026 exhibition was ceremonially opened at Incheba in Bratislava. An event already being described as the most ambitious in its history. We are proud that KOVAL SYSTEMS, a. s., took part in the opening not only as a visitor, but above all as an exhibitor and technological partner in international defence projects.
Our joint exhibition stand with BAE Systems Hägglunds and Rheinmetall featured, among other technologies, the CV90120 light tank, which is currently among the solutions being considered for the future modernisation of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic.
Today, KOVAL SYSTEMS is no longer involved solely in component manufacturing. Within the framework of the CV90 programme, we:
» manufacture complete turrets for the CV9035 MkIV vehicles,
» participate in the prototype development of the turret for the CV90120,
» develop and manufacture automatic loading systems for the Rheinmetall 120 mm cannon.
The development of the automatic loading mechanism presented at IDEB 2026 clearly demonstrates that the Slovak defence industry possesses the know-how and technological capabilities required to participate in cutting-edge European defence projects. As Ján Michálek, Chairman of the Board and Business Director of our company, stated:
“Our experience gained through the CV9035 MkIV programme has also been successfully transferred to the CV90120 project. The development of the automatic loading system proves that Slovak industry has the capabilities to contribute to state-of-the-art defence technologies in cooperation with leading European companies.”
The entire exhibition stand was dominated by the CV90120 tank, which attracted both professional and general audiences thanks to its combination of:
» high mobility,
» low weight,
» modern firepower,
» and logistical compatibility with the CV90 platform already being introduced into service with the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic.
IDEB 2026 welcomed a record-breaking participation of more than 150 exhibitors from 17 countries worldwide, hundreds of pieces of modern military and security equipment, and delegations from both domestic and international government institutions. The IDEB Defence & Security 2026 exhibition continues at Incheba Expo Bratislava until 14 May. Do not hesitate to visit this internationally attended event.
